Focus and Scope

Pluralia: Journal of Religion and Society focuses on interdisciplinary studies of religion and its interaction with social, cultural, political, legal, educational, digital, and public life. The journal welcomes original research articles that examine religious phenomena through theoretical, empirical, comparative, historical, textual, ethnographic, sociological, anthropological, and interdisciplinary approaches.

The journal particularly encourages theoretically informed and empirically grounded studies that contribute to broader academic debates in religious studies, sociology of religion, anthropology of religion, Islamic studies, theology, cultural studies, media studies, and society-based approaches to religion.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal should demonstrate a clear contribution to the study of religion and society. Articles that are purely normative, descriptive, or lacking analytical depth may be considered outside the journal’s scope.
