Publication Ethics and Editorial Policies

Pluralia: Journal of Religion and Society is committed to maintaining the integrity of scholarly publishing. The journal applies ethical standards to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher in order to prevent publication misconduct and to ensure fairness, transparency, and academic accountability.

Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, writing, or critical revision of the manuscript. All authors must approve the final version and agree to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the work. Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors, reviewers, readers, or other parties may submit complaints or appeals related to editorial decisions, publication process, ethical concerns, or published content. Complaints and appeals should be submitted to the editorial office through the official journal email. The editor will review the complaint, consult relevant editorial board members when necessary, and provide a response within a reasonable time.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, academic, or other relationships that may influence the submission, review, editorial decision, or publication process. Editors and reviewers must decline involvement in manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.

Data Sharing and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to provide sufficient information about research design, data sources, data collection, and data analysis to allow readers to understand and evaluate the reliability of the research. Where appropriate and ethically permissible, authors are encouraged to make research data available in a repository or upon reasonable request. Data involving human participants, confidential information, or sensitive materials must be handled according to ethical and legal requirements.

Ethical Oversight

Research involving human participants, interviews, observation, personal data, vulnerable groups, or sensitive religious and social issues must be conducted ethically. Authors must obtain informed consent when required and must protect the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of research participants. When applicable, authors should state whether ethical approval was obtained from an institutional ethics committee or explain why such approval was not required.

Intellectual Property

Authors must respect intellectual property rights by properly citing all sources, obtaining permission for copyrighted materials when necessary, and avoiding plagiarism, redundant publication, and unauthorized use of data, images, tables, figures, or other materials.

Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections

The journal allows post-publication discussions, corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, and retractions when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record. Readers may contact the editorial office if they identify possible errors or ethical concerns in a published article.

Research Misconduct

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, citation manipulation, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, peer-review manipulation, improper authorship, or undisclosed conflicts of interest. Allegations of misconduct will be investigated by the editorial team and may result in manuscript rejection, correction, expression of concern, or retraction.
